We've made it through the alphabet! It's amazing to watch Ms. P pick up the letters and their sounds so quickly. She has been quite enthusiastic about her "lessons" and will also do a bit of phonics practice during the day when she listens to songs in the car (like "Tic-Toc" by Ke$ha..."Mommy, t-t-t-tipsy! What does "tipsy" mean?" Eeek).
The next book we'll focus on is "My World" another pre-reader in the Now I'm Reading series. It contains 10 story books with incentive stickers. I'll also work with her on recognizing sight words in "Sight Word Readers" by Scholastic. She'll learn 50 of the most common words in books, such as I, the, and, look, here, for, in, too, and others.
After completing these two books, we will be moving on to Level 1 of the Now I'm Reading series and really getting started with Ms. P's reading!
